Trident-tail

The lively chatter so often heard in the tree tops of Keehar’s vast forests belongs to no other than the trident-tail, or black zirf. They are the smallest zirf species, rarely reaching over 1,5m in wing spread.
Trident-tails don’t think hard when it comes to food and will eat almost anything – from fruit and leaves to birds
and even deer or horses. They hunt in packs and can be an admirable force despite their small size. Narrow blade-like wings and tail make black zirves excellent flyers and challenging prey. Forest Shade hunters sneak up on their lairs at night, while Moonlit zirf riders make a sport out of chasing them down in the air. But the true enemy of trident-tails are Fire kin, especially the falcon-winged Vocht and the Teooken, masters of precision flying.
